I am no math wiz, but I have the PSCALE program that Tremaine Parsons created, and it has a feature that tells you the total tension of a scale.? In it's library of sample scales, I checked the total tension of a Steinway Model A Grand, a Vose Upright and a Mason & Hamlin Model A Grand at A440, then at A442.? In those three examples it gave the tension increase at around 300 lbs, (which is around 136kg?)

I expected a higher number, and probably there are pianos that have a bigger change.? But for me, the three pianos I checked seem like a pretty typical sample of what I work on.
