There have been several techs who have glued two mutes together to do the same thing but I like the long handle for player and bird cage pianos. The two mutes that I use are tied together with "Spider Wire" so that they do not dislodge and fall into the unreachable voids of the piano. Once spent 30 minutes retrieving a mute and while doing it found two others that had been lost by another tuner.
