David Love www.davidlovepianos.com From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of tom Sent: Thursday, August 20, 2009 8:15 PM To: pianotech at ptg.org Subject: [pianotech] Dreaded verdigris List, A client with a Steinway K mentioned to me that a technician was able to free up a verdigris infested action with Ronsonal lighter fluid. I know we have beaten this one to death, but I'd be interested if anyone has any experience with this stuff. As best I can tell it is essentially naptha , but the info was not from the manufacturer . With advice from all quarters including some of our more illustrious listees , I've thrown the kitchen sink at this stuff over many years. Protek, Ethel Benzene ,Hexane- methanol . I have yet to try Ballistal (Sp?) and a heat gun as suggested here recently. Thanks in advance Tom Driscoll RPT -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
