What works well for adjusting let off on a vertical is a slat of wood wedged between the rail and the hammers, supporting them at let off or just a little bit away. Then you adjust the button to have the shank 'just' rise off the support. I have various thicknesses of wood for this and have been pondering an adjustable supporting jig. -- Regards, Jon Page
