There was a grand in a local hotel, I believe a Rippen. It was built for use on a dirigible. The case and plate were one piece aluminum. the soundboard was bolted in from the bottom, and appeared to be designed with a negative crown. If not by design, that's the way it was! It never did sound very good. Another tech and I spent an hour hunting down a rattle in it before we thought to take off one of the legs, which was hollow and had a screw moving around in the bottom.
