Hi,Brian ! C-clamp method was introduced by Jim Harvey in late 70-th at many Pedal repair classes... Don Wigent,RPT from No.Carolina designed and improved that tool and sells it.. I do have one and it works very well,$35-40 cost of tool saves a lot of time..... Good Luck !!!
