I've made a number of these "spanner wrenches" for different pianos, the last one was a Knabe as well. 1/2 inch cold rolled metal rod, heated, pounded somewhat flat, and then a notch ground in it to accommodate. If you bend the other end you have a handle to turn it with. I then painted mine flat black. Crude, effective, cheap. If you need to harden it, there's methods for that as well.
