Greetings, I read in Danny Boone's Regulating Grand Piano Touch and Tone book, that flattened knuckles can be "bolstered" Yes they can, by a number of methods. Common to all of these is that the leather usually remains a bit loose around the newly bolstered knuckle core causing much extra friction and accompanying sluggishness to the action. No matter which way you work it... when parts get old and worn the fudge factor becomes increasingly apparent. Knuckles are easy to change btw. And not particularly expensive either. Cheers RicB
