Make sure the lyre stickes don't fall on the hard floor when you do this. And yes, replace both strings of the F2 unison, or it will not match. Of course, now F2 won't match the rest of the bass, but................ William R. Monroe SNIP I will need to remove the pedals of a Steinway M # 234654. Disengage the swivel lock, then the assembly should come forward? Maybe needs a gentle tap with the hammer from behind? Also, on that same piano, a broken string had been replaced with a universal replacement far from correct dimensions (F2). I think of having one made to exact specifications.
