Good Point, David. If you put the lyre on, seat it fully and lock it in with the button, it should not be loose or wobbly with or without lyre sticks. If it is, as David wrote, inspect the mounting plates. If it's a nice tight fit and the lyre sticks are just fiddling around back there, well then, go back to the beginning. After all, this is where I am. And this is where I will stay.......... William R. Monroe Just for clarification: the lyre itself is not wobbling? Making you think the lyre braces (stickes) are at fault...when you pull the lyre, make sure the female plate in the keybed is not cracked. You will have to replace the two parts to repair that problem... David Ilvedson, RPT :-) Ill go for the leather disks on the Steinway, and Ill check that the Lyre is properly seated first. Thank you.
