[pianotech] Database for Piano Business

I have recently done some exploration on Elance to have an application built
for me (us?). The costs are relatively important. I was planning to do it on
Filemaker which runs on Windows and Mac. I plan on taking one of those
smaller laptops (9 inch screen, very light) on the job, building the invoice
as I go, either in private setting or institutional work. I think the pocket
pc is too small for doing this in a practical way. Filemaker supports web
and synchronization.

Dave Peake does not seem to support Peakeware (anyone knows about him?)

Alan Mc Coy has a Filemaker Database that I have used to help software
developers understand some of our needs.

Having used a system already, you would know pretty well what you (we) need.

I have received some impressive propositions from Database developers.

I am in the process of getting a manager/accountant involved with my
business. I've been keeping track of clients/appointments/finances with
PTBiz for many years. I realize that program is dated as the author is no
longer supporting it.

I need to find a program(s) that can basically do what I've been doing with
PTBiz, but one that also has the ability to sync with another remote
computer (my assistant will be working 40 miles away), AND hopefully, be
able to run on and sync with a PDA (HP iPAQ running Windows Mobile).

Any recommendations from the computer literates out there?

Thanks!
