[pianotech] "killer octave' cure

With my moderate success with vodka voicing, I've thought about trying
acetone. Was there an odor problem? I also wonder about damaging the glue
joint of the felt to molding.

When at Oberlin last summer, something very simple was shown to us to focus
tone and increase sustain mildly.  Hypo-oiler acetone down at the staple
section...enough to where it's almost saturated but not creaping up to the
shoulders as best as you can control it.  It had a suprisingly nice effect.

I was thinking of some mild juicing but I was did not want to change the
timbre a lot.

I have several customers that own Steinway D's in there home and from time
to time are interested in having me re-voice their pianos to build up the
area of the killer octave. I am reluctant to do this because the pianos
sound very even going thru these areas. Does the Pianotec treble tone
resonator work in situations such as this? Are there any negative side
effects to it at all?
