Hi  Todd a rough regulation of the bridal wires on the bench.
the jack and hold the wippen so that the jack is against the bottom of the butt. Pull back on the top of the bridal wire bending the wire at the base. Do not try to be perfect you are only getting the tapes set to do their primary function of damage prevention.

        Regulate what?  Bride wires, back checks, capstans?  Do I regulate the bride wires before I put the action back in the piano?  Since the jacks are so close to the butts with the new leather, will putting the action back in the piano like that cause the jacks to jam and I will have more work cut out for me?

        What do I need to regulate before I put the action back in the piano, and what do I need to regulate after the action is back in?

                  I went ahead and began replacing the butt leather this evening.  I completed the entire bass section.  The one thing that stands out on the before and after is the jack is much closer to the butt than it was with the old leather (since the original leather was indented quite a bit.)  What do I need to be ready to do when I install the action back in the piano?

                  One thing I did play with was tugging on the bridle wires, and that did bring the jack back to the position it was before I replaced the leather.
