[pianotech] pitch floating; D-C Systems in schools

I have found that Dampp-Chaser systems are almost impossible to keep
operable in schools. They're always moving the pianos around and forget to
plug them back in. They skip years with the tunings, so the pads don't get
replaced, water doesn't get filled. They lose the watering can. Kids take
the bottom panel off for more volume, then vandalize the D-C system.
Janitors move the pianos to do the carpets or floors in the summer, then
don't plug 'em back in. I gave up. It was too maddening.
