If RCT is that slow in picking up/displaying the pitch, maybe it isn't perfected...? For me an ETD is vitally important for quickly checking aural problems as I progress through the tuning. i.e. what has changed to make that octave suspect. It might a prior unison that needs tweaking...unisons as you go!
