s this the stuff that Wim talked about some little time ago, to prevent
ust on strings?

It looks like this is a paper that is used to wrap around metal objects, and it's the paper that protect the objects. (I don't know how it works in aircraft). 

The product I have is passive.. A foam emits a vapor that settles on the strings.  It just sits there, although it also comes in a spray.
