You need to contact a harpsichord expert who can do official appraisals.  I would suggest, in the San Francisco area, either Kevin Fryer www.kevinfryer.net or John Philips, www.jph.us

Appraisals for donations are subject to Federal tax law requirements. one of which is that the appraiser has to prove they are qualified to appraise the instrument based on certification or years of experience.
