[pianotech] Tool Cases

It's been years since I did this, so forgive me if I don't know the latest and greatest.

I had two cases that contained most of the stuff that traveled regularly. For the basic tuning, and possibly a few little things, I had my computer case (with computer... TuneLab), and some basic tools. Over time, I figurered out what that case needed and it carried very easily with a shoulder strap. I even joked about making sure I had my "purse". Hey, it worked!!

The second case didn't leave the truck unless I thought I might need it. It was much more comprehensive and had lots of more unique tools, regulation tools, repair tools, lubes, glues, and many of the felts, bushings, and odds & ends that I just didn't use on every day tunings but wanted handy, nonetheless. The second case was basically a large tackle box. Lots of compartments. And it served me well. Most of you wouldn't like it because it wasn't on wheels. Seems like a lot of places I went, the wheels wouldn't have worked well anyway. So, on those days, I got a little extra exersize.

FWIW...

Brian

Yeah, I know. I'm almost resigned to just that. I just really want it integral. An exernal luggage cart, no matter how small is a pain. I tried a small (read weak and insubstantial) cart once. Didn't like it. It was just another piece of equipment which inevitably the case had to be removed from. So now I've got two pieces of equipment in the home - might as well just carry two kits in. ;-]

Bottom line is, I have plenty of tool cases from which to choose. I have one now that is small to mid-sized and it's fine. I just want perfect and thought I'd put it to the list to see if anyone has or has seen my perfect case. I'll keep looking..............

Why not just get the case you want and get a good luggage cart. You can carry it around sans cart but it is available when needed...
