  Whereas I am not familiar with installation of the Kawai or Yamaha mechanism, Jurgen's unit does require some chiseling/routing out of the fallboard and case side. So you've gotta shape/cut a couple of recesses - isn't that why we are professionals? It's not rocket science......

    I think what Don was trying to say that the mechanism isn't as much of the problem as is the woodworking required to install them. At the factory they use a computerized machine to cut out the fall board and the rim. In other words, Yamaha's mechanism might have the same problem.
