The pianos that I have learned the most from are the ones hat kicked my ass for the longest time, and where the answers came hard - I ad to steal the piano's secrets. But I learned because I really had to hink things through, and challenge even my basic assumptions. And I too ait until I've tapped out my own resources before asking for the thoughts f others. Even if I think I know the answer, I will still seek the erspective of others, as they can flesh things out more and give you more etail. We are uniquely blessed to have this precious resource in the forum o use as that soundboard. Forgive me. No problem. Gotta start somewhere, and the beginning is after ll, the beginning. This isn't a factor in this instance, but hat I see helping in the long term in these situations is an ttempted analysis (presuming *any* past experience), ndicating that thought was given and an attempt was made efore phoning in. I see people who have been appearing on the ist for a long time "phoning in" first thing, asking knee erk questions that they ought to be able to figure out for hemselves, and have no sympathy at all for that. I find that xhausting everything in my experience and imagination before iving up in despair and asking for help usually results in my tumbling onto the cause from which I can work out something hat takes care of it - eliminating the need to ask for help. ot everyone's such a hardhead, but I really hate being utsmarted by inanimate objects, and it happens altogether too ften. Something totally outside my experience is different, nd I'll ask for basic information before just barging in and crewing it up (usually). Bottom line is that no one knows even 0.00000001% of ANYTHING, o we have to work out our own individual reality however we can.
