To create a stiff 'needle' on the end of spring cord using thin CA glue, my method is this:- 1) Pull back the sheath material and remove about 2 inches of the core strands. 2) Secure the end of the cord in the side of a small bench vice and pull as tight as you can without the cord breaking. This will automatically create a perfectly round shape. 3) Still holding as tightly as possibe slowly soak the cord with thin CA. I find it best to apply the nozzle along the cord and just gently and evenly apply enough thin CA to impregnate it. Keep pulling the cord tight until the CA has gone off. One minute? Take the cord out of the vice and merely trim the end. 4) You will then have a very stiff and thin 'glass needle' which will go through even the smallest hole. You may find that the cord will smoke slightly as you apply the glue. It is best to do a practise run just to make sure you are not using too much glue. ric -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
