Ah, but the original question was: "Does anyone have agraffe to strike dimensions for note #1 on a Steinway C --AND-- an 85 note A (both around 1890)? Ed was answering the part about the Model A. ddf Delwin D Fandrich Piano Design & Fabrication 620 South Tower Avenue Centralia, Washington 98531 USA del at fandrichpiano.com ddfandrich at gmail.com Phone 360.736.7563 -----Original Message----- From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of John Delacour Sent: Tuesday, February 16, 2010 3:45 PM To: pianotech at ptg.org Subject: Re: [pianotech] Steinway agraffe to strike line dimensions Ah. But the model A has a speaking length of 1415 mm so why should the strike point on that have any relevance to the Model C? If your figure is the exact strike point that Theodore built into the design and if he used the same principles in designing the C then the strike point on the C would be 174mm, but I think the actual figure arrived at by my method above would be longer.
