At UTM we use a 3 1/2" square block of wood covered in felt. Our vocal majors like to use it. Works well for us. Joy! I've seen various prop designs like this. The Knabe I mentioned, for instance. I think it's a good idea. Mechanical stops always work better than education, and are usually harder (but not impossible) to bypass. Ron N
