I had a customer, newly married and purchased a 35+ year old "restored" Baldwin Grand that still had Ivory on the keys, but miss-matched and the tops were not smooth where they joined the tails. He wanted the keys recovered but asked for a few on the pieces of Ivory as a memento of the original keytops. Being a request before I picked up the keys, it was easy for me to oblige. I just called my client back to say that the keys are ready to be put in, and she said her relatives say she never should have let me take the ivory and she wants it back. I told her I could give her the heads I kept, but of course they are mixed in with others I have saved from the past, so it will be difficult. I assume she thinks it has some value. Is it valuable?
