Get a pair of Grand Regulating Button Pliers,
Pianotek, pg D-13  #JBP-1

Sometimes the dowel capstans on old uprights are extremely tight
and require a combination of both pliers and round capstan tool to
turn the dowel, perhaps on some grand let off buttons too.
