I had a call south of here about an hour many years ago and when I got there
I found a cop walking the property. He approached me and we exchanged words
about why we were both there. He was told by the neighbors that there
hadn't been any activity in the house for a day or two. As we chatted a
fire truck pulled up. I started walking around the place looking in
windows. "There he is!" I hollered. Through the bathroom window, through
the door and barely past an inside corner I saw him sitting in his TV
watching chair, basketball game in full swing on the tube.

About then the locksmith showed up and unlocked the front door. The EMT's
first, then the cop, then me. I entered just in time to see the EMT pick up
the old guy's wrist and drop it followed by a confirming nod.

I can remember thinking, "Well, I guess I won't be rebuilding his player
piano.". I found a nice quiet place in a parking lot and took a nap until
my next appointment. I never charged "the estate" for the call ..........
and I'm still in business.
