Bag the chuck key altogether and get a key-less chuck...they are really 
nice. I set up my bridgeport  with one and love it. I still have the old 
keyed chuck on the drill press, and curse the blasted thing every time I 
use it.(that is after I  have found it...its amazing how inventive I can 
be at relocating that sucker)
