  I have flipped grand pianos upside down and then back in my shop using my chainfall. I suppose you want to get your engine puller real stable and so it won't roll anywhere. I just put a strap around a beam and lift the treble end, using the flat side as a fulcrum. Once you get it up half way, then you can put a strap on the plate. But I suppose you will be trying to put it on the dolly. I would think getting the piano up on it's long flat side would be first, and then reposition straps, etc. to lift it the few inches needed to set it on the dolly.

    It is a 9' concert grand.
    Will not be able to see it till late tomorrow or Tuesday.
    I have a portable engine puller and an overhead winch/snatch block mounted on a trailer than is probably usable and it sounds like there is good clearance around the piano for access. Have plenty of straps, blankets and pads.
    Anyone care to share experience or give advice would be appreicated.
