The springs that y'all are referring to are a design by John Rhodes, RPT, Portland Chapter. He was a designer for HP in that field. It's one of the first things he tackled after getting into this crazy business. The spring should be, basically, bullet proof. I've not heard where there was an increase in noise from them.
