I think clip ons look unprofessional, they look like a jury rig. They tend to slip off. I know that some use glue and others crimp. But I still find them unsatisfactory. The corks have to come out, or the end taken off for proper placement of the strap. I find that it isn't that difficult to glue the straps on, with glue on the strap, and C/A on the wood. Make sure they are the proper length.
