The one I rebellied sounded fantastic.  A BIG sound.
  By the way there is a a92os Chickering 9 ft hiding in the back of a local hi school with a sound to cry over its so gorgeous. Stunning sound. I recall it has a plate painted original gray. I'd buy it in a second

It does have a very similar look to the Knabe bridge arrangement on their early 1900’s concert instruments.  My guess is also early 1900’s.  Surprisingly, the soundboard  is performing fairly well.

 This reminds me of an 8 ft 6 Knabe we bellied 10 years ago. similar transition bridge arrangement. It looks like early 1900 ish

own serial numbers (which this is) but I can find no reference to them.




 
It's certainly not an 1843 piano as the number would otherwise suggest.  Any
