I did see a Wurlitzer 88 note spinet that had a cabinet made to disassemble for easier moving for traveling bands/orchestras, as they were known in the day. The cabinet below the keybed had no kickboard but instead was hinged at each side & clasped together in the center. The hinges were half hinges so that each side could be swung back & removed, I assume for weight & ease of carrying up stairs, etc. I don't recall much more about it.
