A thin stream of water dripped onto a 1930's Baldwin small grand. The water hit two bass dampers, dripped onto their strings, sostenuto rod, and down onto the damper underlevers. Now the underlever screws are rusted and impossible to remove. I would appreciate suggestions. I'd, first, put screw driver blade in slot and give it a good hit. Then, try turning. Second, I'd do the same, only put some turning force on the screwdriver and then hit it. That should shock it into turning. YMMV Rust can really "bond" with wood! Joe Joe Garrett, R.P.T.
