Glad to hear that your job went well. Just a reminder to all, I am now
saving the cut offs from heavy bass strings to chuck in my Dremel to
drill the bushings. They are about the right size for a 20 gauge
needle and they don't break if you run into the side of the tuning pin
down in the pin block, as high speed drills sometimes do. The clipped off end
works fine as a boring tip. No special sharpening is needed.

Piano wire should also work for drilling a few hard hammers from side
to side if you don't have a number 80 drill bit. They might get hot if
working fast. I first tried using a needle for hammer drilling. It
works but the needle gets hot and starts to burn the felt and leave
little brown spots after a few hammers are penetrated like this.
