Case in point. I recently went to see a piano for the first time. It belonged to a retired teacher who plays a couple of hours a day. A 6'Kawai. It was in need of a good lubrication, some minor regulation, and a good string leveling, hammer fitting and voicing. Took a couple of extra hours beyond tuning. Afterwards this is the email she sent me. David, Thanks so much for all your help. I'm just loving the piano - can't quite describe how it sounds different but somehow it does. Perhaps next time you come you'll help me understand. She had no idea that the piano could be any different and no one before me bothered to take the time or trouble to explore it with her. Hi David, Your (fill in the thought sentence) sounds like a perfect opening for one of Chuck Behm's promos. I often suggest it because many don't know enough about it to request it. Before I leave a customer's house I try and complete this sentence, "This piano would sound or play much better if __________________. And then I make a point of communicating that thought. Often, it's never occurred to them that something could be different. David Love www.davidlovepianos.com
