I hear it quite a bit, and then I tell them that it goes out of tune just sitting there. 

Of course they don't belive that, because they think you're just trying to rip them off.

That opinion is fairly common from people who don't play often (and probably from some of those who do). I hear it quite a bit, and then I tell them that it goes out of tune just sitting there.
