Hi William, Don and Paul, Thanks for your great ideas. I'm going back next month to tune another piano. they have quite a few to tune. The rail I'm gussing is never used. They use this piano for piano lessons rehersals. It sits in a room that's used for hand bell class William, and choir rehersals. Both music directors hate the piano lol The funny thing is, I went to tune it last summer. I put the rail back in. I came back when they wanted it tuned again, the rail was gone. I couldnt find the thing anywhere. I would have reinstalled it if I had. I wondered if some kid got in there like th etime one of the youth group kids broke a damper on their Yamaha GA1 that I had to replace. So Yesterday when it was time to tune the Sojin again, guess what, the rail reappeared. :-) Thanks again.
