Al,
     There are some very valid concerns about PTFE (such as Teflon) and health. (Please do a little research on the Internet.) So I'd advise using something else (like graphite or molybdenum) whenever possible. As you may know, a nice, brushable concoction of graphite in denatured alcohol can be made that soaks into wood and leaves a slick surface.
