       Think Deliverance.  Those things can creep, slowly, for several 
years before just pulling all the way out, while you are tuning it, in 
a hurry, in a crowded schedule. damhik

I would be tempted to undo it, straighten out a new becket, and 
bullet-proof it, once and for all.
