Jim et al,
The "tool steel rolled threads" idea is o.k., but not the best way to go
imo. I have a Threading Plate, that has several sizes on it. It was
obtained from a Jewelry Supply house. It was made in Japan and works very
well for such things as threading wire for damper wires, etc.The only thing
I've never figured out is what the Number designations, on the plate, refer
to. There are 12 different sizes all N.F. Threads. It's how I dupicate
strange threaded stock for whacko, odd piano stuff.
Just so's ya know.
Or...I have dies, that I ordered from my local hardware store, dies in N.C.
threads for that sort of thing too. Just ask one of the knowledgeable
oldtimers in a large, old hardware, they'll know. Or...order from
McMaster-Carr!! There are many other sources, if you do the searching.<G>
Best,
Joe
