Your local hardware store will rarely have what you need for these sorts of critters. You need to make friends with somebody with an old fashioned machine shop and take an example of what you need with you. They can probably whip it up in a few minutes for you. I find the guys enjoy the unusual work, especially being part of antique instruments.
