About the Position
A unique  Piano Manufacturer in Dubai/UAE with international customers is looking  for a qualified piano technician to tune, maintain, repair, overhaul  and/or rebuild pianos in service at the workshop of Dubai Piano in Dubai.  This position independently overhauls, building and rebuilds pianos. The  candidate will demonstrate piano tuning and repairing skills equivalent to  Registered Piano Technician status as defined by the Piano Technicians  Guild. This position requires the ability to effectively establish and  maintain cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural  environment.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not  limited to:
-Regular tuning, voicing, and maintenance of 
      pianos; overhaul of grand piano and upright actions including regulation 
      and adjustment, key top and hammer replacements, re-brushing of action 
      centers, and touch-weight adjustments.
-Identify and determine the 
      cause of problems with the instruments
-Develop and present 
      recommendations for improvement of improvement of established processes 
      and practices.
-Research and develop resources that create timely and 
      efficient workflow.
-Prepare progress reports 

Education  and Experience
Two years of experience in tuning and repairing 
      pianos as well as two years of experience in overhauling and rebuilding 
      piano required.

Knowledge, Skills &  Abilities
-Skill in the tuning of pianos instruments at A-440 
      (cycles per second) in equal temperament. 
-Familiarity with the 
      construction and rebuilding of pianos in general and grand pianos in 
      particular.
-Practical knowledge of grand and upright piano regulation 
      and adjustment.
-Judgment of piano value and conditions under which it 
      is possible to restore them economically.
-Ability to understand and 
      work with instructors, students and musicians to adapt pianos to 
      individual needs.
-Ability to order and maintain a parts 
      inventory.
-Ability to perform in a detail-oriented 
      environment.
-Ability to handle multiple work priorities, organize and 
      plan work and projects.
-Strong oral communication skills.
-Must 
      possess excellent customer service and public relations 
      skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Qualified 
      candidates must be registered Piano Tuner/Technician with the Piano 
      Technicians Guild.  They will have experience and practical knowledge 
      of grand and upright piano regulation and adjustment; minimum of 5 years 
      experience as a piano tuner and 5 years experience as a piano 
      rebuilder.

Physical Demands
Must be able to 
      lift, carry and move tools and equipment to service pianos. The candidate 
      must be able to remove the action and related parts in both upright and 
      grand pianos without assistance. 
 
Work  Environment
Candidate must be able to work easily in a repair 
      shop environment, utilizing standard piano repair procedures, with sounds 
      exceeding normal levels.
