Paul,

I sell Hallet Davis pianos and have tuned many of them. They are rather
tunable, but the touch weight is heavy. I could be wrong, but I don't
think they were made by Samic.

Subject: [pianotech] Hallett Davis Grand

I received a call regarding a 10-year-old Hallett Davis grand with serial
number DG03170, supposedly brand new in 2002, that the caller is interested
in buying. I don't have access to my Pierce Atlas at the moment. I found
and have reviewed a website for this maker, but would like to know more
about who builds these pianos and where, relative quality, etc. Can anyone
assist me with info? I'm thinking this is an Indonesian- or Chinese-made
piano with old American name? Is the company still American-owned, or are
they owned by Samick or Young Chang or someone like that?

Thanks in advance for any information.
