OK, don't all speak up at once. I suppose it was a bit vague. At any rate
the Kawai has metal lyre support brackets that are hinge pined to the
underside of the piano and connected to the back of the lyre with a small
flat plate held in place by four screws (each). The back of the lyre itself
on this piano has a high gloss finish and even with the screws tightened
down the shiny front of the metal plate against the shiny back of the pedal
box created this somewhat difficult to zone in on creaking noise. Roughed
up the both surfaces and put some wax there and solved.

That's it Mr Love, well done.

Squeak when the pedals were used (any of them) on a Kawai grand piano (don't
recall the model) c 1985's. Not the usual stuff. Took just a bit of time
to isolate it.
