Engineers .... take note !!! The ONLY way I see a self-tuning piano to work - is to have a combination software program - and (here is the most expensive part) - a micro movement motor that could "jerk turn" the pin in either direction until the string is in tune. In theory - the tuning pin could extend through the pin block where the bottom of the pin is connected to the micro movement motor. Also, where as, the computer program could be able to tune just about anything, meaning ET and HT and everything in between. Any bids for takers on building a prototype <grin> My 2 cents -- Duaine Hechler Piano, Player Piano, Pump Organ Tuning, Servicing& Rebuilding Reed Organ Society Member Florissant, MO 63034 (314) 838-5587 dahechler at att.net www.hechlerpianoandorgan.com -- Home& Business user of Linux - 11 years
