[pianotech] Slipping Becket

How about just roughing up the last couple of inches of the string with
sandpaper to give it a better grip. I would suspect some kind of
contamination on the pin with a lubricant is the problem. A drop of thin CA
glue in the becket hole would probably fix it, but this may irrevocably
offend one's craftman sensibilities. It seems the issue is lack of
friction, so anything to increase it should be effective.

I had a string loop on a harpsichord that was slipping, and the tiniest
drip of CA fixed it, and months later it is still holding fine. It beat
replacing the string!
