I use a braided fly fishing line. I’m not able to get into the shop today to get the details, but I remember it had the same OD as the yamaha stuff for the spring cord repair. One important criteria is that it doesn’t fray when cut and accepts glues well. I bought the stuff at an outdoor store that has a fly fishing shop and they sold me a big bunch
for just a few bucks..

The cord used in the vertical blind manufacture is the one I use. Thin, woven, flexible and strong.

I underestimated how much silk chord one needs for a jack spring job (square grand).
This chord I got from from Schaff looks like it has a core and weave(or whatever you call it). Any chance one could get this stuff locally at a fabric/upholstery store or some such?
