[pianotech] The invitation to the Heckler

Duaine,

I've watched your spat with Wim with some amusement. I've noticed quite the dichotomy...

Wim has been successful in at least 2 different markets, he's written at least one book that I know of, and I've met him at conventions where he's always attending numerous classes to learn as much as he can. He's been upbeat and patient way beyond where I would've been patient. Wim also has a nice clientele base and is booking a year in advance. His clients seem to like him and want him to come back.

I see your comments as bitter and complaining. You verbally assault others and resort to name calling. You posture and try and manipulate the conversation by your specious commentary. You're not open to getting additional education and you say you can't hear beats. You trash aural tuners, people with PCs, and pretty much anyone who doesn't see your point of view.

If you treat your customers the way you treat other tuners then I'm not really surprised that you're struggling. I know you probably won't take this the right way, but if everyone else is always appearing wrong in the same way every time, then maybe the problem truly doesn't lie outside of you, but inside. I think it's time for some serious introspection.

We have freedom of choice, but we don't have freedom from consequence...

Before you judge what you don't know, you should really take Wim up on his offer. First, you may learn he's not a bad person. Second, you might learn something valuable, and third, you'll cost Joe $20!

Good luck.

Regards,

Rob McCall
