Epoxy will go just as far, only not nearly as instantly, and will cure 
to a stronger join when it cures.

Both of which are handy if you need a faster response.

In my experience, epoxy works better in virgin wood than in wood sealed 
with any previously applied contaminant that prevents it from soaking in 
to the wood. This includes such things as a finish of any sort, and CA.
