Marshall. About how old is the Mason? There were some made in the '70 in Memphis where they didn't fit the block to the plate, and they never held. I talked the church into letting me put wedges between the block and the plate. Once that was done, the tunings held, but the hammers were so bad , it still didn't sound good. The church was not willing to spend any more money on it for new hammers. They "fired" me and got some one else, so I don't know if they ever got it fixed

I think at one time it was also replaced before I came along. I would tune that thing and blend in the harmonics pretty well so that it would sound decent. the music director said to me that the guy who came and put the string on valso oiced that note, but I asked her if he voiced the hammer and she wasn't sure. I thought I heard somewhere that a string could be voiced. I wanted to chedk Reblits first, but due to time restraints lately I thought I'd just ask you guys. Is it possible to voice a string?
